Frequently Asked Questions
Do the listed dimensions include wheels and handles?
We publish both numbers. The case dimensions (the packing body only) are 48.2 x 38.1 x 19.6 cm (19 x 15 x 7.75 in.). The overall dimensions, which include wheels and carry handles, are 55.2 x 40.08 x 19.6 cm (21.75 x 15.75 x 7.75 in.). When airlines publish size limits they mean the overall size, so compare the overall number to your airline's limit.
Will this carry-on fit my airline's size limits?
It is sized to meet the 55 x 40 x 23 cm (21.5 x 15.5 x 9 in.) carry-on limit of Air Canada, Porter, Flair and Air Transat. At 40 cm (15.75 in.) wide, it is wider than WestJet's 36 cm (14 in.) limit. Canadian carriers publish their own limits, so compare the overall dimensions (55.2 x 40.08 x 19.6 cm (21.75 x 15.75 x 7.75 in.)) against your airline:
| Airline | Published carry-on limit |
|---|---|
| Air Canada | 55 x 40 x 23 cm (21.5 x 15.5 x 9 in.) |
| WestJet | 56 x 36 x 23 cm (22 x 14 x 9 in.) |
| Air Transat | 55 x 40 x 23 cm (21.5 x 15.5 x 9 in.) |
Regional jets have smaller bins, so expect to gate-check on those flights regardless of brand. And every bag is covered by our 30-day return policy.
Does expanding the bag change whether it fits airline sizers?
Yes. The zippered expansion adds extra packing depth, and a fully expanded bag may not fit a strict airline sizer. If your airline enforces its sizer, board with the bag unexpanded and save the expansion for the trip home or checked segments.
Is it water resistant?
Yes. The exterior fabric has a DuraGuard® coating that resists water and stains, so it holds up to rainy sidewalks and daily wear.
How do I make a warranty claim or get repairs?
Start at our Customer Service Center, where you can register your bag, file a warranty claim, and request replacement parts. If the issue is covered, Travelpro provides replacement parts or, when a bag cannot be repaired under an active warranty, a replacement bag. Full coverage details are on the warranty information page, and common fixes you can do yourself are in our luggage repair guide.
How do I clean and care for it?
Use a 50/50 mixture of alcohol and water, apply with a soft cloth, and gently rub the affected area until the spot lifts. Let the bag air dry completely before storing. A little lemon juice in the mixture freshens the fabric. More care tips are in our customer FAQ.
What warranty does this come with?
This product is covered by the Maxlite® 5 Warranty, plus our 30-day return policy. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship.

"Looks like I bought the right carry-on. This is a little bigger than my shoulder bag, so I can throw in extra clothes. The spinner wheels are much easier than throwing a bag over your back, especially when you have to hustle to the next gate."

"The suitcase is quite small and the top opening makes the storage that much harder. For the price point, expected a more functional version"

"Easy rolling luggage. It’s fairly roomy for the size but I read a reviewer that said it was top heavy and I cam confirm this to be true. It is not that stable and will topple forward."

"Great bag. Quality construction. Fast shipping"
I bought a second Maxlite
"I bought a second Maxlite 5 International Carry-On Spinner after using my first one for a few years. I found this luggage meeting the size requirements on international airlines for carry-on luggage. So far, it is durable and the small wheels survived being dragged on cobblestones in Spain. I hope that, in case they do get damaged, they can be easily serviced and replaced."

Love our Maxlite Travelpro International
"Love our Maxlite Travelpro International Carry-Ons!! We replaced our older roller bag with these two bags. They are so smooth & easy to maneuver. Love the multi-level handle adjustment for just the right height. I was surprised how much i could fit wirh it being a smaller size. Love all my Travelpro bags!"
