Reviews

The construction of the Altitude

"The construction of the Altitude Sling 2L is satisfactory. It functions more as a waist fanny pack instead of a cross body. It is rather bulky when strapped across my shoulder as a crossbody. That's a bit disappointing."

— Melva C. (5/5)

Great sling bag with easy

"Great sling bag with easy to organize pockets."

— Tammy F. (5/5)

Great sling!

"Took this bad boy to Thailand and Cambodia for a two week trip through mountains, temples, cities, and the countryside. It was a fantastic hands-free way to keep my things safe, but ask that the engineering team opt to do something about the jingle-jangle noise of the zipper pulls when walking. Not a huge issue as they're mostly quiet when zipped at the top, but a mild irritation if I forgot."

— Tom J. (5/5)

Well made, but. . .

"While this was the perfect size to keep my passport, iPhone, and money handy and well organized, It does not, however, work well as a sling. It does not lie flat across the chest. When worn as a sling, it creates a flat “shelf” against the body. I will be looking for something else for my next trip."

— Sandra S. (4/5)

Slick but bulky in use

"Sling was slick and durable. However, my was lacking in two areas: (1) The Strap system was bulky, in that as one would fold the arms to set down, the arms would not, hence footprint was always bulky. (2) Sling bag was built with quality. However, inside there was a few extra unnecessary compartments/dividers that made the unit bulky. Even with just a few items added, unit became bulky which caused an uneven contact on the body."

— Gerardo S. (3/5)

Just a little too small.

"I go through a lot of checkpoints. Now that I have hearing aid accessories to carry around too, I was looking for a sling bag. Going to Macy's and REI did not allow me to see products in person. As long as I had to trust the internet (yikes!) I went with TravelPro, because I felt like I could trust them. The bag is good looking and of high quality. (Just like me!) But if you want to carry a small paperback book, you are going to be in trouble. I already have the case for my glasses, mobile phone, charger for my hearing aids, and since I adjust the hearing aids from my phone, I am going to need an external power bank. (Oh. Don;t forget my money clip and key fob for the car. ) It is getting a little tight. But it sure looks good."

— Gregory S. (2/5)

Needs to commit

"I'm a huge sling fan and managed to get the Travelpro Sling 2L. This must've been my 5th sling (I own Bellroy, Lulu Lemon, Grams28, and Asian brands) and I wanted to try it out since it was on sale. The overall sling has a quality build with thoughtful pockets and compartments. I'm already a huge Altitude fan and own the briefcase, backpack, and duffel which I love. My main issue is that it needs to choose an identity between being a sling or fanny pack. I usually wear slings on my chest but due to the design, the Travelpro sling will never sit comfortably on my chest. It is top heavy and doesn't lay flat. The design flaw is where the straps attach. They attach to the middle of the sling, which means that even if I lengthen the strap it will always sit too vertically with diffulty digging into the pockets. The straps should connect to the upper corners (not the middle!) to sit more horizontally. The reason it seems to be connected in the middle is due to having the option to be a fanny pack. But this doesn't work either, since the straps are hard to tighten on the fly (like backpack straps) if used that way. I planned to return it, but may just keep it for now. But I would recommend updating the next version as a dedicated sling with updated upper corner attachments. Either that, or make a detachable strap that can attach to either the upper corners or middle anchoring points."

— Nathan L. (2/5)

Strap is too short

"The strap was too small for me to where it comfortably across my chest, I would want it to rest on my hip not on my chest. Otherwise it was a great bag, I wish Travepro sold a strap extender"

— Terence M. (3/5)

Sling was added bonus

"Currently I’m using the Travelpro Altitude Sling 2L as a complement to the Travelpro carryon. I probably will use the sling without the carryon and even when I do not travel. I like its compartments."

— Kay C. (5/5)

Great style and quality.

"Another 10!!!"
