We publish both numbers. The case dimensions (the packing body only) are 62.9 x 43.2 x 26.7 cm (24.75 x 17 x 10.5 in.). The overall dimensions, which include wheels and carry handles, are 69.2 x 45.7 x 27.9 cm (27.25 x 18 x 11 in.). When airlines publish size limits they mean the overall size, so compare the overall number to your airline's limit.

How big is this bag in linear dimensions, and will I owe oversize fees?

Linear dimensions are height + width + depth added together. This bag measures 132.8 cm (52.25 linear inches) by case dimensions and 142.8 cm (56.25 linear inches) including wheels and handles. How do I clean and care for it?

Solid bag with great organization features

"The bag is generally well-made and works well. The wheels roll very smoothly. I find the zippers can stick a little bit more than I would expect for a high-quality bag, and the airline somehow managed to cut quite a gash out of it on only my second outing with it. That was a bit disappointing. I don’t expect these things to be bulletproof, but it just still hurt that I bought a brand new bag that wasn’t super cheap and it couldn’t even stand up to going on one international trip. Fortunately it’s cosmetic…my classy titanium (it really is a nice colour) has a duct tape experience patch. 😀 That all said it’s still a very wonderful bag that I do recommend. It’s a good size and the ability to pack a suit is super valuable for me."

My husband wanted the medium

"My husband wanted the medium size to fit into the large one because sometimes we can't get 4 large cases under the bed on some cruise ships. Unfortunately the medium size does not fit into the large one. It is shorter but wi der. Disappointing. Luckily on this cruise all four suitcases fit under the bed. We didn't have time to return and get another large one before our trip. The quality is great and certainly takes lots of abuse from airline staff."

"Purchased this checked bag along with the matching carry on to replace an old Away hard shell set whose handles disintegrated, the pull-out handle couldn't be retrofitted, and warranty claims were complicated and problematic. This is a beautiful bag. Appears very well made with lots of pockets and compartments for packing. It's lightweight and the spinner wheels are excellent. Very handsome blue color. This should be a great bag to take to Hawaii with lots of room for souvenirs."

I did significant research on

"I did significant research on about every piece of soft-sided luggage there is. While I prefer hard shell luggage, I chose the TravelPro Crew Classic Medium Check-In because for my next adventure, I needed soft-sided luggage and didn't want to bring a duffle bag, There is a lot I like about the Crew Classic Medium Check-In. The wheels are great The Zipper seems good. There is a fair amount of space (and I need to make sure I don't overpack). I can remove the suiter. The only thing I really don't care for in this luggage (and its true of nearly every competitor) is I rather not have the zipper pocket on the outside. While that design is great for a carry-on, because the medium is a checked bag, if I need to pack anything in that space, I need to lock it with an extra lock that doesn't come with the luggage. And to me, if there is to be an outside zipper pocket, it should have a TSA lock. But, I rather not have the outside pocket at all (and I understand others may prefer it) because for me its a waste of much needed interior space for checked luggage. I will be using the medium check-in soon and will see how it holds up....hopefully well."
