The overall dimensions, which include wheels and carry handles, are 69.2 x 45.7 x 33 cm (27.25 x 18 x 13 in.). When airlines publish size limits they mean the overall size, so compare the overall number to your airline's limit.
Linear dimensions are height + width + depth added together. This bag measures 140.3 cm (55.25 linear inches) by case dimensions and 147.9 cm (58.25 linear inches) including wheels and handles. Most airlines cap checked bags at 23 kg (50 lb). This bag weighs 5 kg (11.1 lb) empty, which leaves about 18 kg of packing before standard overweight fees. A luggage scale is a good companion for long trips.
Expansion adds packing depth, which also adds to the bag's linear inches and invites heavier packing. If you are near your airline's size or weight limit, measure and weigh the bag expanded, the way it will actually fly.
The lock ships set to 0-0-0. To set your own code: turn the dials to 0-0-0, remove the zipper pullers from the lock, press the reset button on the side of the lock with a pen until it clicks, choose your combination, then press or slide the release button. Combine mild soap and water, apply with a soft cloth, gently rub until clean, rinse well, and let the bag air dry completely before storing. Surface scuffs on hardside shells are cosmetic and do not affect performance; store the bag in its provided fabric cover when not in use. More care tips are in our customer FAQ.
