We publish both numbers. The case dimensions (the packing body only) are 62 x 41 x 28 cm (24.5 x 16.25 x 11 in.). The overall dimensions, which include wheels and carry handles, are 70 x 44 x 28 cm (27.5 x 17.5 x 11 in.). When airlines publish size limits they mean the overall size, so compare the overall number to your airline's limit.
Linear dimensions are height + width + depth added together. This bag measures 131 cm (51.75 linear inches) by case dimensions and 142 cm (56 linear inches) including wheels and handles. Most airlines cap checked bags at 23 kg (50 lb). This bag weighs 4 kg (9.4 lb) empty, which leaves about 19 kg of packing before standard overweight fees. A luggage scale is a good companion for long trips.
Expansion adds packing depth, which also adds to the bag's linear inches and invites heavier packing. If you are near your airline's size or weight limit, measure and weigh the bag expanded, the way it will actually fly.

Combine mild soap and water, apply with a soft cloth, gently rub until clean, rinse well, and let the bag air dry completely before storing. Surface scuffs on hardside shells are cosmetic and do not affect performance; store the bag in its provided fabric cover when not in use. More care tips are in our customer FAQ.

"After doing extensive research, I purchased four of these for our family. We initially really liked them, as they are lightweight, look sleek, have great organizational features, and are high capacity with the expandable zip. However, after five trips, two of our suitcases have had significant damage - one had the handle snap off, while another has a corner completely cave in, rendering the suitcase useless (see photo). We also noticed on all of them that the wheels scuff badly despite being rolled on regular paved surfaces, no cobblestone. We are extremely careful and gentle with our belongings. We obviously have no control over how airlines treat luggage, but I do expect luggage to still hold up after 2 years of infrequent use. We reached out to Travelpro’s customer service and was told that they could do nothing about airline damage, so now we are stuck with broken luggage and needing to buy a replacement elsewhere. Wish they held up better because they were great while they lasted."
